Mentoring  is a ministry carefully designed with the “Great Commission” in mind. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus told his followers “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

In the mentoring program, individual Christians are paired-up with other believers of the same sex. In other words, men work only with men while women meet solely with women. The leader and the person being discipled study a series of Bible application lessons meant to help the latter gain a better understanding of God’s word and its relevance.  Just as important as the study itself is the relationship that developes over time between the two as they meet regularly. It is in this context that the leader models the Christian life before the other person and gives him or her any other necessary support. The goal is that by the end of the process the person in question will be established in his or her faith and be ready to disciple some one else as well.

This is just a brief overview of what has proven to be a very effective ministry in helping people grow and reach their potential for Christ.
